Top tips from Charles Armstrong

The central piece of advice I’d give to any start-up or entrepreneur is to grow your network in the community as quickly as possible, as that’s how you’ll derive the most benefit from all that Tech City has to offer the most quickly. Starting out in a co-working space, like The Trampery (or one of the many others in the area!), you’re going to be meeting other businesses and forming networks there.

Go to events! As many as possible, in fact. Minibar is one, Silicon Drinkabout is another. They are regular, they are fun, and they provide a brilliant opportunity to meet other people in the same space – and, crucially, other people who aren’t necessarily in the tech sector but who are still part of the area’s unique creative environment. You can have a beer, meet people, see some presentations and develop connections – and real friendships – that will stand you and your business in great stead.
