Joanna Shields is the Tech City Investment Organisation Chief Executive Officer from January 2013.
Joanna was previously Vice President and Managing Director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Facebook. For over a decade, Shields has been a driving force in Europe’s Internet landscape. Since moving to the UK in 2000 to run RealNetworks International, she has held key positions at leading companies such as Google, where she served as Managing Director and built the Syndication and Partnerships network, and Bebo, where she served as President and then Chief Executive.
Joanna is also the UK Government’s Business Ambassador for the Digital Industries.
Benjamin is the Deputy CEO and Head of Community for TCIO. His tasks range from events planning to identifying possible collaborations and liaising with the community. Pru is joint Head of Partnerships at TCIO. She joined from London and Partners, where she developed a strong reputation for bringing major inward investment deals in the tech sector to London, and helping local companies to expand overseas. She will assist you and your company in finding exactly what you need to make a relocation or investment into Tech City a success.
Tiffany is joint Head of Partnerships at TCIO. She will help you find exactly what you need in Tech City, whether it’s connections to the investor community, mentors, or a better understanding of the opportunity that Tech City represents for you and your company. She joins TCIO from the London and Vancouver Olympic Organising Committees, where she managed the technology underpinning those events.
Juliette is TCIO’s property specialist, liaising with occupiers, developers and local authorities to match demand with available property and advising on strategic property developments. She has previously managed science parks and incubators in Cambridge UK, and worked on new developments in New York and Toronto. Juliette’s interests include digital/physical convergence and cluster development.
Adrian has over 20 years’ experience in helping international companies locate and expand in the UK. A specialist in IT and software companies, Adrian works with international companies interested in setting up in Tech City.

As an inward-investment professional with over 20 years’ experience, Derek has worked with global companies from start-ups to the largest multinationals. At TCIO, Derek is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the team with a focus on the strategy, finance and activities required to meet TCIO’s objectives.
Michele has worked in investment and trade promotion for over 12 years. A specialist in working with ICT, creative and media companies, Michele works with international companies interested in setting up in Tech City.
Keith advises both start-ups and established SMEs how to scale globally. He’s a specialist in the creative and media technology sectors. At TCIO,Keith works with Tech City companies that want to expand into international markets.
Vice Consul ICT, Trade & Investment, British Consulate-General, New York
Patricia’s main focus is to assist US and UK ICT companies to internationalise. She’s assisted over 100 companies in her four years at the British Consulate, New York.
Prior to joining UKTI, Patricia worked for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Economic Development Agency as a Research Director, assisting 31 municipalities to attract international firms.
